The Fund
Events & Initiatives
YUSIF's events extend the Fund's investment and educational work beyond weekly meetings. Analysts present research to mentors and the Schulich community, represent the Fund at external competitions, and attend sessions with investment professionals.

ESG
Responsible investment considerations
Environmental, social, and governance factors are considered where they may affect a company's operating performance, valuation, or risk profile. These considerations form part of the Fund's broader company and industry research rather than a separate scoring exercise.
Research and sources
Analysts review company filings, proxy statements, sustainability reports, and other regulatory disclosures. The analysis considers board composition, executive compensation, ownership, regulatory exposure, environmental liabilities, and workforce practices. Third-party ESG ratings may supplement, but do not replace, the Fund's own research.
Sensitive business activities
Analysts consider a company's exposure to controversial products and business practices as part of the investment review. These considerations are evaluated alongside financial, operational, and governance risks.
Governance and alignment
Analysts assess management's operating record, capital allocation, incentives, ownership, and treatment of minority shareholders. Material governance concerns may outweigh an otherwise attractive valuation.
